Our club has been operational since the 1940’s. Our humble beginnings have been the strongest foundation in the way the club functions, and how we plan for the future. We are a small-town club for locals and like-minded people who love the outdoors. We hunt, fish and explore region 1 with the same dedication and joy passed down from our original founders.
The first big initiative of the Chemainus Rod & Gun Club was a 50-boat moorage in the Chemainus Harbour. A hub for outdoor enthusiasts! The moorage is no longer in place - but we still carry our sense of community and adventure forth in new ways. Through club events, acts of conservation, and social activities, we continue to build an organization dedicated to the outdoor lifestyle.
Join Today! As a club, we have always been deeply rooted in community, and preserving the ways of the outdoorsman who came before us. We believe that by continuing to offer our members opportunities to get outside, shoot, hunt and fish we are extending this legacy little by little.
As with most things these days, there are elements of running an organization that require us to do things in new and modern ways; we meet those challenges head-on and adapt. Our club is small, and we love how that feels - but small doesn’t have to mean outdated or stuck in the past. With that in mind we have made great strides over the past few years to ensure that our club doesn’t get left by the wayside. We have streamlined our membership application process, are updating our organizational systems, and given our board of directors proprietary email addresses. These steps towards “digitization” allow us to create a clear direction, and a tidy system for new members, and directors alike. The Chemainus Rod & Gun Club is small but mighty!
It is our hope that over the next five years we continue to see growth in our membership - and with that, new levels of engagement from members and their families! We host a number of fun events throughout the year, and are so happy to see new faces, consider this your invitation to join in the fun on The Fathers Day Fishout, Plinkers Day, and the Annual Awards Banquet! There are always great prizes, and great company.

We are working on updating this section to show our recent efforts and contributions to conservation; both in our region and across the province. Check back soon!
